MORE than 20,000 people have visited Pembrokeshire County Council’s new website in the first five days since its launch.
The newly-developed site aims to be more practical and customer-friendly, and easier for people to access on mobile devices.
The work was carried out in-house by the council’s web team.
Manager Gareth Johnson said: “Our research shows that over half of our customers now access our website using a mobile device to make a transaction online.
“With this in mind, it was crucial that the site was designed for mobile and provided easy access to digital services.
“The new layout also makes it easier to navigate around the website, with information divided into four sections – Resident, Council, Business and Visitor.”
Customer feedback includes ‘Much clearer, much cleaner and easier to navigate than previously. A big improvement’ and ‘Love it! Looks very clean and user friendly’.
As part of the launch, 25 new online facilities have been added, including being able to apply online for Council Tax discounts and exemptions.
Cllr Neil Prior, Cabinet Member for Transformation and IT, said: “This is an important step forward. However, technology doesn’t stand still and I will be working with the team to ensure that we continue to evolve our digital offering.”
