26-bedroom hotel back on the market

RESTRUCTURING SPECIALISTS Quantuma have been appointed joint Law of Property Act receivers over the 26-bedroom Penrallt Hotel in Aberborth.

Quantuma has appointed Colliers International to market the property.

The hotel, which also has 11 cottage rooms and a detached leisure centre, first went into administration in October 2014.

The property was sold out of administration by Colliers International but was forced to close again in May 2016.

Frank Wessely said: “Unfortunately, the business was unable to continue trading and we are now offering it on the open market.

“This provides a new opportunity for an innovative operator to take on a property that offers a number of options for a variety of business uses, subject to the necessary planning and other permissions.

“It lies close by the Parc Aberporth technology park which was created on the site of the former RAF base which may stimulate future business trade.”

Penrallt Hotel is set in 19.42 acres of landscaped grounds six miles from Cardigan and 25 miles from Carmarthen. It is an Edwardian house overlooking Aberporth Bay.

The hotel has undergone a complete refurbishment and the leisure centre includes one outdoor and two indoor pools, two gymnasiums, a beauty treatment room plus a café bar.

Quantuma has been engaged to handle the Law of Property Act receiverships for a variety of assets in the past 12 months, including residential properties across England and Wales, partly developed residential properties, hotels and central London premium parking spaces.

Founded in early 2013, the business now has seven offices in London, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, Marlow, Watford and Brighton.
